How to Obtain a Vietnam Visa from Japan

For Japanese citizens and residents, there are two main options to apply for a Vietnam visa:

1. Apply for a Visa at the Embassy

To apply for a traditional visa, visit the Vietnam Embassy in Japan. Complete the application and processing directly at the embassy.

2. Apply for Visa on Arrival

The Vietnam Visa on Arrival (VOA) is a convenient option for travelers arriving by air. Here’s how it works:

  • Online Application: Complete your visa approval letter online and pay the service fee.
  • Receive Approval: Get your visa approval letter via email within the specified period.
  • Stamp Your Visa: Upon arrival in Vietnam, pay the stamping fee in cash at the airport to obtain your visa.

3. E-Visa

The Vietnam E-visa offers a fully electronic application process, making it even more convenient. This visa allows entry through designated airports, seaports, and land borders instead of the limited options provided by Visa on Arrival.
