Are you going on a business trip to Vietnam? We can help you get a Vietnam business visa. This short-term visa will allow you to work for or with a local company, attend a negotiation or meeting, or sign contracts. We recommend it for professionals and entrepreneurs who don’t have a temporary residence card or a valid working visa.

Read on as we share everything you must know about the Vietnam visa for business and how to get one. We’ll also share how we can help you apply for it.

What type of business visa do you need?

Vietnam offers two types of business visas: DN1 and DN2.

  • You’ll need a DN1 visa if your work involves collaborating with legal organizations and businesses within Vietnam.
  • If you are establishing a commercial presence, providing services, or engaging in activities under international treaties involving Vietnam, then you will need a DN2 visa.

What can you do with a business visa?

Your Vietnam business visa isn’t just strictly for work — it also allows you to take a leisure trip during your business trip. Your visa will be good for up to 90 days.

Requirements for a Vietnamese business visa

Unless you’re from a country that has a visa exemption agreement with Vietnam, you’ll need to apply for a business visa to carry out any business activities in the country.

To qualify for a Vietnam business visa, you must meet the following conditions:

  • You must not be on Vietnam’s list of individuals who are barred from entry.
  • You need a legitimate sponsor company in Vietnam — this is the business you’ll be working with or for after your arrival. It must be an actual operating company, not a visa service or shell company, as relying on one could lead to complications.
  • Your passport must be valid for at least six months from your intended entry date and must include at least two blank pages.
  • You’ll also need a recent portrait photo (4×6 cm or 2×2 inches, with a white background). This can be either printed or digital (.jpg format), depending on how you apply for the visa.

There are a few ways to apply for a Vietnam business visa. You can apply:

  • at a consulate or embassy in your country,
  • upon arrival at one of Vietnam’s eight international airports,
  • online through the e-Visa portal, or
  • through an authorized travel agency, such as our company.
