Following the initial pilot phase at Tan Son Nhat International Airport, this procedure has now been expanded to other international airports across Vietnam.

The introduction of the Vietnam Pre-Arrival Form is part of an effort to improve immigration efficiency at Tan Son Nhat Airport, which has long been known for long immigration queues. The form ensures that vital entry details are submitted online, reducing the need for time-consuming paperwork at the airport. By submitting the form before landing, travelers can expedite their entry process, minimizing congestion and wait times, especially during peak travel periods.

Who Needs to Complete the Form?

The following travelers are required to complete the form:

  • ✅ Foreign passport holders with a valid visa or visa exemption.
  • ✅ Overseas Vietnamese traveling on foreign passports.

If you fall into any of these categories, you must complete the form before you board your flight to Vietnam.

Who Is Exempt?

The Vietnam Pre-Arrival Form does not apply to the following:

  • ❌ Vietnamese citizens (They do not need to submit this pre-arrival form).
  • ❌ Transit passengers who remain in the airside area and do not clear immigration.

    https://prearrival.immigration.gov.vn
  2. Fill in Your Details:
    You’ll need to provide your:
    • Full name
    • Passport number
    • Visa information
    • Nationality
    • Flight number
    • Local address in Vietnam (e.g., hotel name, residence address)
  3. Submit the Form and Save:
    After you submit your details, the portal will generate a QR code confirmation. Keep a digital copy or screenshotof the QR code on your phone, as you’ll need to show it to the immigration officers when you arrive at Tan Son Nhat Airport.
